Rafael Nadal will become No. 1 in the rankings Monday, and he is No. 1 at the Olympics.
The Spaniard won a gold medal Sunday, overcoming two set points in the second set and holding every service game to beat Fernando Gonzalez of Chile 6-3, 7-6 (2), 6-3.
The gold medal was the first ever for Spain in Olympic tennis.

Well, I do like tennis and I have heard of Nadal, but I cannot say I was watching him too closely. In fact, I have not even been watching the tennis portion of the Olympics much, simply because I have not been at home lately when they are broadcasting. However, I happened to be getting a hair cut right as Nadal played Gonzalez last night (for me) and I do have to admit that it was an enjoyable game. I am glad for Nadal and I am extremly happy that he beat Gonzalez, as I truly had no interest in seeing Chile win anything (do not ask why). Plus, I know people from Spain and I love the country :D
Cheers,
Drew
